GPS disconnects when screen turns off!!!

I've searched the forums again and again but I can't see if anyone is still having this problem or if there is a fix.

When the GPS rom update from sprint came out there was a big problem with the GPS not working once the screen turned off. I still have this problem. If I'm using google maps with GPS, and the screen turns off, I have to soft reset before GPS works again.

It's annoying, but I can't see anyone who still has this issue. I'm using the original Sprint Rom from last summer. GPS locks aren't an issue, I get locks in under 20 seconds.

I noticed that this does this on Google Maps. I have a VZ6900 not a sprint. However, I do not need to soft reset, just reopen the program. I have four search programs in my phone, this is the only one that does this. it might be a function of this app.

I have the exact same problem, and it is incredibly frustrating. However, if you use gpstoggle on your home screen, it will keep the gps primed all the time, lights on or off. The main problem with that is it absolutely rapes your battery. Also, if it loses the fix, like say, you walk into a building, then its a soft reset situation again. Any fixes, my ppc homies?
