App to find out what programs are using data?

HI all, I am having trouble with my data connection. It seems to be always on even with no programs running. Is there an app that could tell me what program would be using the data connection? I suspect it could be me email, but it is set to only sync every hour. Sometimes when I hit the end key to turn it off, the data pops right back on and I get the bubble saying it is connecting. Its quite annoying and a battery drainer. Thanks for all your help.
