EVDO Problems

I seem to have a issue that I cannot find the answer to.. I flashed a custom ROM onto my phone and data did not work on it, so I flashed back to the stock Alltel 6.1 ROM and got my data working again but every time I try and connect I drop to 1X data service.

I have hard reset to many times to count, flashed alltel stock 6.0 and 6.1 ROM's. and flashed several custom ROM's now and still no EVDO service. My data comes in it's just as soon as my phone connects it drops to 1X service which is slow slow slow...

I have been fighting this for over a week now, been searching here and over at XDA with no luck, anybody got any ideas?
