SPRINT-yet another ICS question

I have had 3 Sprint Touch's(original) in the past year or so and have successfully changed the registry to enable internet sharing. I recently. within the last 2 days, exchanged my last Touch for a new one due to screen issues again. I accessed the registry of the new phone running wm 6.1 and the traditional registry files to edit are not there. I do have the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE file but no /comm/ file exists to edit.

Has Sprint changed things to make this harder? Am I doing something wrong?

I appreciate any and all help and have done 2 days worth of searching and am at wits end!
