Changing IP Adress when using PAM?

HI

I have tried searching for this but IP is too short of a term so I apologize if this has already been posted.

I have heard that it is possible to change your IP adress whenever you want if you use phone as modem on your laptop. Does anyone know how to do this on the touch?

Basically my question is what do you have to do to change your IP Adress?

Would appreciate any imput.

Thank you

Re: Changing IP Adress when using PAM?

I checked my ip again a couple of days later and it has changed. Not sure exactly what made it renew, a reset by itself doesn't do it. I have heard of some ways to change the ip to whatever you want in the registry but I was hoping to find a simple way to renew the the ip insantly.

I work in real estate and have to post many ads on craigslist for my apartment listings. Craiglsist gives me trouble if i do a few from the same ip because it thinks I am a spammer but i just have thousands of listings and am only posting a small fraction of them.

Does anyone have a way of changing to a new ip at will or can at least point me in the right direction? or am i just dreaming? If this is not possible please let me know.

Re: Changing IP Adress when using PAM?

Resetting the phone (or just cycling the radio on/off) should do the trick. I always get assigned a new IP when I reconnect to the network.

Re: Changing IP Adress when using PAM?

Thanks, I think it actually does work, for some reason my firefox didnt actually refresh when i hit refresh on whatismyip.com and it kept giving me a cached version of my ip. sorry

The only thing you have to do to make it easy is just turn on airplane mode and turn it back off, then connect again and you get a new ip - great!
Bluetooth pan rocks.
