6900 turns off but not back on.

XV6900 Verizon.

I did a complete unlock and got most functions working. I have one problem. The sleep/on/button only shuts the phone off. I have to do a soft reset to turn the phone back on. It will not respond to the top button. I need to know if there is a registry setting to correct this. I am a newbie, but understand the basics of windows.
