Newbie: TF2D &/or TF3D + Skinz, etc.

I have STFA for literally hours... and still dont completely get it.

Point of this post... I like the TF2D & TF3D UI's and I would like to try them out on my Sprint Touch. I've read through the following two threads and checked out a number of the XDA links within them. SADLY, I STILL cannot figure this whole thing out.

So, before I brick the sh!t out of my phone. I was hoping someone here could help me out.

• Can someone plz briefly explain how the TF2D and TF3D ROMs work with the Sprint Touch?
• Does it completely replace the UI, or is it just an overlay?
• Is it easily reversible back to reg Sprint Touch 6.1 UI?
• Is there a clear step-by-step that walks thru each step of downloading and installing and possibly uninstalling?

Like I said, I was going to start downloading and installing the things from each link, but all of the threads Ive read thru are so bloated with info, I get confused as all heck.

Well TF2D and TF3D are plugins not roms and you will not brick your phone if you try them. Now forget about TF3D because it does not work on a Touch. But TF2D does. You need to vist the second thread you posted because that thread will tell you how to install the latest version of TF2D witch will be located closest to the top of the first post. Once you get that installed and running you are now ready to vist the first thread you posted witch is my thread with all the cool TF2D themes select one and install that and your good to go. Answers to all your questions are yes...

Does it completely replace the UI, or is it just an overlay? Its just a today option you can always remove this from your today screen...


Installing these bunch of .cab files will not brick your device, you may encounter freezes and whatever but its all part of trial and error...The links you gave are also in no way flashing, so its completely safe just back up all important info and start customizing!!!!

i cant really explain in detail how tf2d or 3d work i dont understand it my self completely...but im pretty sure it just covers your screen cus i go in to settings/today and uncheck touchFlo and it goes away and looks like a normal 6.1 theme.

going back to your original...well you will need to install the .40 unlocker go here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370

read the thread and download that. after you download that you can flash the stock sprint rom. CAUTION!!!!! i here this can mess up your phone by going back...i flashed back for waranty purposes and it was fine...recently i flashed back to try out somethings on my phone and the phone did keep messing up and locking up on me so i just went back to whosdaman's rom...which doesnt ever give me any problems...lol

and for a tutorial like thing...this thread is awesome!!! its how i learned how to do everything!!! check it out most definitely! http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ht=cooked+roms

Thanks again, bro. I appreciate the directions. It took me a bit to realize tho that you are using a ROM vs a CAB. I will prob switch to a FULL ROM eventually, but I first want to make sure that I like the TF2D enough. So I am going to start with a CAB version first. I'll hit you up again later if I have any questions.
