Question about warranty and flashing?

So here's the deal. Earlier tonight I couldn't find my phone so when I went outside I found it on the floor. However, the screen is black and it appears to be broken. Not physically. I can recieve calls but there's no way for me to see who it is. My question is how do I deal with verizon since I've flashed a new ROM? Have I voided the warranty? Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about warranty and flashing?

Is there a Verizon stock ROM? If there is you may be able to put the .nbh file on the stock 512mB micro card and rename it VOUGIMG, then put the card in and go to bootloader mode. It should automatically flash the stock ROM. I just did this with my Sprint Touch when the usb port stopped working. Of course, I could still see the screen. It may not matter if they can't see the screen either, then they should just replace it.

Edit: here is the Verizon ROM http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43741
extract the .nbh and do what I described and it 'may" work.

Re: Question about warranty and flashing?

Thanks for the info guys. however, I'm a little confused. Do I do a hard reset or enter bootloader mode? and how will I know if it worked? I guess I won't right? Luck of the draw.

Re: Question about warranty and flashing?

So basically even after you flash, unlock, or modify your rom in anyway, you can always go back to original condition by putting stock rom and hard resetting it?? I was kinda worried about warranty as well for modifying my touch.

Please tell me what does and what doesn't void warranty. Thanks in advance

well simply put any rom on your phone other then the stock one issued by sprint voids any warranty service.

i manage a Sprint Store ASC. all you need is that vogueimg file on a formatted SD card and hold talk and the end key down while resetting your phone and you should be good to go...

i just sent back my originaly touch cus the speaker was blown on it...and i just flashed the original rom and i was good to go.

hope i helped some
