Freezing issue

I'm having an issue with my HTC Touch. For some reason, it always shuts off by it self. It's still on, but the screen go blank, and it freezes up. The button's don't work at all. Then I have to take the battery out, and restart it all over again. Is anyone else having this same issue, and if so, what did you do to fix this problem?

Re: Freezing issue

Well for starters you do not need to take your battery out to restart...You can soft reset which does the same thing but is easier just insert your stylus into the bottom tiny hole next to the usb jack...

Also have you installed any conflicting programs that you know of ? Either way get a back up program and try a hard reset it will restore your phone to like new...to do so hold the end and send keys and place the stylus in that same tiny hole...

Re: Freezing issue

Are you on the stock ROM or on a Custom ROM? Have you unchecked today timeout in Settings--> Today--> Items. Does it do it after the same ammount of time each time it does it?

Re: Freezing issue

Hey hooover, you do have a good point, I will do that next time, but this has been a problem for a lot of other user as well. So I don't think it was anything I installed.

An yes Rabid_Gypsy, I'm using a custome rom, but I know people that have the stock rom ( my co-worker ) and it did the same thing. But I will try (unchecked today timeout in Settings--> Today--> Items ) an see if this will make a difference. What does that feature do ?

Re: Freezing issue

I was using the Sprint ROM found in this thread and had freezing issues.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46406

I switched to another custom ROM and haven't had any problems.
