Yes, you can also sync your device with the WMDC and make sure that you select "Contacts" as one of the items that you want to sync.
Also, another option is dashwire. dashwire.com, create account, download software, sync, hard reset, reload software, resync.

ay sprock...i did what u said wit MDC...it saved my content, but no contacts?? any idea where they wud be....im not using outlook either...no errors when syncing or nething like that?????? TIA

word, i use outlook too, i have an exchange server...but i wanted to try what u were talkin bout...theres a part in the profile called contacts(start button/user/contacts)..but nothing is there????? any other idea where they mite b??

Use PIMBackup, your PC operating system won't matter. Just install PIMBackup on your storage card and save the backup file there. Then do your hard reset and restore from your storage card. I'm pretty much an idiot and it works quick and easy for me.

Contacts are stored in a file called "pim.vol" in the main device folder. I just copied this file to a folder on my storage card and if I somehow ruin my contacts (hard reset or whatever), I just copy the saved file back to the main folder of my device. I think a backup program is better, plus you can manage your contacts from your computer with Outlook and Activesync, but if you want a simple way to save and restore your contacts, here it is.
