Light turns on every few minutes

I have the oem sprint rom and this light turns on every few minutes i thought it was 5 but sometimes its three. and ive dug through as many settings as i thought possible. I'm losing my mind. there are no notifications to be displayed at all.

So are you not coming in and out of the service area...Have you installed any new apps lately?

You also might have a running application that is using your network.

I have not installed any apps, however i do have aim running and i cant remember if it does this without being signed on.....But while i check that out what can be done if that is the issue? What else can be done if it is not the issue? i dont want to lose my connection to aim to save battery, is there any other options? i dont beleive im going in and out of service either.
