speach recognizer

Is there a way or program that would let me use voice instead of having to have to type, the way I can for the speak option in Live Search. I would like to use it with google and pandora.

Re: speach recognizer

Voice Recognition Software (VRS) is an elaborate thing.

I have Dragon Naturally Speaking on my XP machine and it works wonderfully. I do not remember exactly which version I have but it also allows the translation of .MP3 files of my voice. I use Resco's Audio Recorder on my Touch and when I sync I can then import a recorded message/story and turn it into text.

I realize that this does not help answer your question...

My hunch is that VRS is not compact enough to be launched on a WM device yet.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!

You're absolutely right. I would like to know how long we should expect to wait for full OS support of speech recognition. I am guessing that it may be included in WM7. How great would it be to dictate your text messages? Speech to Text is a great technology and let's hope Microsoft puts it not only into their applications, but also their new mobile operating systems.

If you're interested in it from Live Search, I found an article and a video about it here: http://bink.nu/news/live-search-for-...cognition.aspx

Re: speach recognizer

We also have the voice command program in wm 6.1. It seems to be pretty effective in understanding words w/o any prior training. Seems like there's a good engine under the hood.

I agree it is a good engine under the hood yet it jus doesn't crank right. It'll be some genius to come out with that kind of tech, but until then we will have to settle for Voice Command

Well first of all, Google is a good place to start.

Here's the developer's page with information on where to buy it:
Voice Command
