Adding to Weather list in HTC Home Plugin

Hi anyone,
I have a Verizon Touch xv6900.

My city in NC is not listed in HTC's weather icon in the Home Plug-In. I am able to open the XML file that has the list of cities, and add my city using an XML editor like Crimson, but the phone refuses to allow the modified file to be written over the xml file. Any suggestions as to how this can be done?
