Re: GPS with no network coverage?

I have the touch pro and Sprint and HTC told me that the GPS it has is only GPS assisted, which it will not workwithout a network . Only in US, Canada and Mexico it will work.

Any tips? I really want to be able to use the GPS when there is no network coverage.

I am trying to get this done on my Titan and my Vogue.

Thanks in advance.

just out of curiosty, which gps program are you using? Google maps would be perfect if maps could be pre-downloaded. Is this even possible?

Okay, but if I completely turn off the radio (which I have done) and still get a lock (which I did..in a plane...going .70 mach) that doesn't seem to match up with what they said.

As for getting data...unless you have a data source of some sort, you can't. I was looking for a PAN client for WinMo, but it doesn't seem to exist, and without WiFi, I'm not sure how to get data into a non-active/no-network device.

You'd have to get something like TomTom or whatever I would guess.

Re: GPS with no network coverage?

gps without data is as simple as having a program such as tomtom installed on ur ppc

maybe google will release a map pack at some point, but dont count on it
