GPS with no network coverage?
I've been trying for around a month to get the GPS work correctly on areas without network coverage but I am still running in circles.
Sometimes I get a lock in 10 seconds, sometimes in 30 seconds but most times I do not get a lock, even when the GPS picks around 8 sats. Any tips? I really want to be able to use the GPS when there is no network coverage. I am trying to get this done on my Titan and my Vogue. Thanks in advance. |
Re: GPS with no network coverage?
Well, I can tell you that I just plopped my VZW 6900 by the window with the radio OFF and it got a lock in under 3 minutes (i wasn't staring at it the whole time, so I can't be specific about the lock time).
So it seems more than possible to me. I know applied the GPS fix found elsewhere, but with no radio, I wouldn't suspect that matters. |

Anyone knows how to disable aGPS on the Vogue? Thanks

Re: GPS with no network coverage?
This could be the solution. Try to turn Agps off by going into phone settings and then location setting. Make sure it is turned to off.

Re: GPS with no network coverage?
Ok just question, from previous break downs the titan has a built in GPS chip while the vogue is polling from agps i believed... So i'm not sure if you will be able to aquire a signal without service on the vogue while on the titan you can use it as a gps device without having service activated on the Cell.

Re: GPS with no network coverage?
i remember when i used to have my vogue/touch there WAS a way to access gps without the radio on, and that is what most people will say, but there are always people who have issues, such as the op. Sorry Daved, im not too sure why its not working. Maybe try pm'ing some vogue rom devs?
