Battery meeter problem

Got a new touch recently, and it seems that the battery meeter has gone wild. It'll go from 50% to full and then an hour or two later, just die, then other days it'll work just fine. Anyone else having this problem?

Could have to do with whatever programs that a continuously running...

is it just the meter or is the battery actually dying?

the battery will actually die, like it'll say it has a full charge, and then go to dead with the chime going off. For no reason.

Everything else is stock, and I don't have any reg edits either.

goto carrier store or find a buddy and try another battery. if that dont fix then its either an app. or the phone. make sure your closing all programs also.
