soft keyboard input problem on IE mobile

I just got a HTC Touch(MP6900) and I met a input problem on IE moblie.
Whenever I open a page with user and password input request, such as msn live login page, I can not input any character in password . The soft keyboard only let me choose number or symbol.

Can anybody tell me how to solve the problem?

Thanks a lot

BTW
I tried Mini Opera, everything works fine, but Bell just doesn't let me use other web broswer. Otherwise there would be an extra charge.

Re: soft keyboard input problem on IE mobile

I'm on bell and I've never had a problem using other browsers. I use opera and skyfire. don't really use pie so I don't know about the username/password. and I don't get charge extra for using other browsers.

Re: soft keyboard input problem on IE mobile

I have a similar issue with the keyboard, although I use the PCM Keyboard. What I need to do is launch the keyboard BEFORE focus is on the input field. Enter your user name and then close the keyboard. Again launch the keyboard BEFORE the focus is on the input field for the password. This solves my problem. A bit cumbersome, but I don't have to do this very often so it doesn't bother me.
