Unlock/Flash from Sprint to Alltel

I'm having a heck of a time trying to do this! I purchased a Sprint Touch today from Craigslist and I need to get it on the Alltel network.

I've downloaded the Vogue Unlocker 2.31 utility and have run it twice already. It goes through it's thing (says it takes about 10min mine takes 3sec for some reason) and then when the phone boots up it appears to be like new. Then I used the RUU program to try to flash the Alltel stock ROM and it doesn't work. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Update: On the third try it seemed like it was going to work and then I got "Error[244] : INVALID MODEL ID"

What is the file name of the ROM your flashing? It should be:
RUU_Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.10.671.1_RS3.42.30_NV2 .02_PRL30031_SHIP.exe

Just double checking because, when I originally got the new wm 6.1 from Alltel it ended up being the one for the titan. So make sure its the one I posted above. If not go to HTC's site and get the correct one.

Thanks for the Links. I've done a lot of research on this website as well as XDA. I haven't found one that really 'walks noobs' through the procedure, it kind of jumps all over the place. I was able to flash the ROM on my phone without problem, however when I attempt to change the MSL with QPST it won't show on the list. I've added two additional ports(will not allow me to add more) and it still won't show up.
I was able to change the PRL to 40038 and so now the phone is on Alltel, but I don't want to call them up until the MSL is changed because they don't want to deal with other carriers' equipment.
Also, when it comes to changing the NID/SID settings I'm at a loss, not a clue where to find that stuff. Dialling ##778# brings me to a "can't connect blah blah blach" thing, and *228 won't work either.

While in QPST add all the extra ports. Your phone will showup as SURF****. Unless you have a bunch of other cell phones or modems plugged into your usb ports it will be the only thing there.

A few things to have done first.

1) Have your phone in diag mode ##3424
2) Have the WMModem driver installed

If you have those 2 things done QPST will see the phone.

If your using an Official Alltel rom you wont need to mess with the NID/SID settings. When you call Alltel the only thing they will have you do is set your Home SID which they will have you do manually. They will walk you through it though.

##778# is a sprint code. When your activated on Alltel you'll need to dial ##778. Also those codes will not work until your activated though.

I have successfully flashed my Sprint touch to the Alltel Network, Everyhting is working for me accept the data. I called Alltel and they said it should be wrking fine. When I open Internet Explorer it says Dialing #777 and than tells me cannot connect for unknown reasons. Any Help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Have you made these changes?

1) dial ##778, enter in 000000 for the password
2) copy the ESN(Hex) Exactly how it is(you need the caps)
3) click View Info in the lower left corner and click M.IP Settings
4) Change MIP_MODE to Simple IP Only
5) Click View Info again and goto Security
6a) HDR AN AUTH User Id = 5555555555@alltel.net (fill the 5's with your 10-digit number)
6b) HDR AN AUTH Password = (Your ESN(Hex) With CAPS)
6c) PPP USER ID = 5555555555@alltel.net (Same as above)
6d) PPP PASSWORD = alltel
7) Click OK in the top right corner and save and reboot.
Goto Start->Settings->Connections->Connections
9) Click Manage existing connections
10) Select Alltel Wireless and click Edit...
11) Click Next in the lower right cornder until you get to the user name and password screen
12a) Username is 5555555555@alltel.net (Same as above)
12b) Password is alltel
13) Click Finish in the lower right corner
14) Enjoy alltel wireless internet!

Also make sure you update your PRL to an Alltel one.

i have htc touch from sprint somebody flashed to metro pcs. later on i did "clear storage" from setting........ i though it only erase the phone book but it erased the whole internet setting......
i have followed the instruction below. my msn messanger is working in my htc touch but internet explorer pop up errors i says
" connect to srpint .... then it says " data provisioning failure
Error Code:1012 could not prepare visions services pleas try again later

I am lost even after reading this. I have a Sprint Touch that I need to flash to Alltell. Can someone explain it to me form start to finish. The way you would explain it to your grandmother. Thank you so much.
