WM 6.1 problem

Okay, I really need some help. I mentioned this lightly in another thread, but it was mentioned under another title, and people who may have been able to help didn't see it.

I'm having a serious problem with Windows Mobile 6.1. I can run programs with ease, but every time I run and exit a game, my phone slows down A LOT. The lag causes some of the programs I launch to freeze. The only way I can get my phone running at normal speed again is to soft reset.

I've tried hard resetting. I've flashed to three different WM 6.1 roms, and all of them had the same problem (these three roms are the official HTC 6.1 upgrade, Conflippers rom, and the super fast super stable Crystal rom, listed here in the order that I flashed them). I think the custom roms I tried are great, and I don't blame them for this issue. I really think WM 6.1 is to blame, seeing as one of the roms that slowed down on me was the official HTC release.

Does this happen to anyone else, or is something wrong with my phone?

(Also, flashing back to 6.0 doesn't fix my camera quality either, which also decreased by worlds when I flashed to the official Alltel WM 6.1 release)

Re: WM 6.1 problem

Yeah, I close them out using the X button. Also, I meant to add that some of the games slow down really bad as soon as they are opened, making them unplayable. Could this be a memory issue too?

Re: WM 6.1 problem

Its my opion that its lags becuse of the memory used, most rom consume 40% at regular run and if your gaming or any outher programs running it takes more. if your in a bad location and reception is consistly searching & processor is working double . try this look in the communications make sure things like bluetooth is off , plane mode is off if there not run the game after there off . if they are turn off the the phone there too. by the way what games are you playing on the device?

Re: WM 6.1 problem

I've been playing the following games (this isn't the whole list):

Flux Challenge
Fruit Days (just got it)
Snails Reloaded
Acky's XP Breakout
Atomic Battle Dragons
and more

I've noticed something by looking at the WM5 Task Manager. After playing a game (more specifically, Fruit Days), I've noticed that the sound continues to play, even after the game has been closed. It doesn't show up as a running process or task on ANY task manager on my device. But, when looking at the CPU load, I've noticed that it shoots up to 100% and then freezes. I wonder what's going on?

By the way, thanks a lot for all of your help! I've had ths issue for quite a while now, and it's good to finally be getting to the bottom of it.

Re: WM 6.1 problem

Sorry for the late reply.

The over clocking prevents the slowdown that occurs after I close a game, and it also makes the games run at normal speed (fixing the slow games issue), but some of my programs still freeze after closing the game (opera mobile and WM5 Task Manager are a few examples).

And to Tommy, I am currently using the Crystal 6.1 custom rom. I am about to flash to Conflipper's 6.1 rom today (cause I think that's the best one I've seen so far).
