Best Non-M2D ROM

Dette has a nice clean ROM that's not manilla2d and he has one that is check his thread out and ask a few questions he doesn't mind answering them......
But overall its the same repetitive speech that I as well as other members of this wonderful site preaches you have take our suggestions and try for yourself see what suites you and what makes you happy...Find out whats the smoothest or what kinda little customizations you like and from there...

Actually I have been thinking about doing a completely new Clean ROM for the Touch.. With an updated base and just completely update everything and make it super clean.. I am still debating though it depends on the demand for it I suppose

I really miss good, stable, CLEAN (no games, slides, etc.) ROMs. Everything seems to be "for show". I am past all that now and want a good, fast, clean and efficient ROM based on the latest release, with GPS, Rev A, and all the registry hacks to make it tether-safe.

Agree with this^

A clean rom is great, but on the Vogue cleanliness isn't such a big issue because it has plenty of memory and never has lagged for me - the thing I install these roms for is -

#1 GPS and Rev A
#2. Registry hacks / internet sharing / stuff like that

Black Vista by DH is the closest I've seen to being the perfect rom.

Although it has a bunch of games and unnecessary programs, they don't weigh the system down at all. It is snappy.

He also includes Opera Mini Java version with shortcuts so it functions as a real application not pulling teeth - it is far superior to the real Opera (I don't know why they even include it, it is so horrible, it's slow and hard to navigate, worse than IE)

These touchflo things are for people who do not know how to use their phone and want a dumbed down interface. Strange that people with knowledge enough to load a custom rom onto a phone would want something so dumbed down.

For me the value in a rom is not having to tweak everything - that of course is tied to what the primary use is but still, everyone can use battery hacks, and other similiar registry hacks.

Im with yall as well.

I always have issues with a bloated rom. Calls dont come in or the dialer freezes or some other bs.

a nice stable fast clean rom would be awesome.

I dont agree that Manila 2D is a dumbed version.. it makes WM REALLY REALLY REALLY usable.. I mean it was usable but still.. This is very finger freiendly.. Its not an app that you have to run its a today plugin which is awesome because getting to all my stuff is pretty freakin easy.. Thats why I use Manila 2D.. I love clean ROM's but the default today screen just sucks (this is my opinion obviously everyone has there own )...

My question to you is - do you really use the audio manager? Personally I find it very cumbersome to load music onto my Vogue - either have to take it apart and take the SD card out or deal with the slow USB speeds. I have stuck to streaming www.di.fm almost strictly and other shoutcast stations.

I love the cube because you can access it from anywhere so I don't need any of the quick contact buttons on the home.

Also I use the today screen for my TodayAgenda - to get a nice large view of the calendar. This is the main reason I don't use the manilla. If not for this I'd probably use it as well, but I'm big on the PIM functions.

I can respect that it is definitely more finger friendly, and it's kind of pretty, so to each their own

Yeah man exactly to each his own ... I do have answers to your questions and statements though..
Yes I use audio manager.. My phone is my main MP3 Player(I dont have an iPod or Zune or anything).. I prefer S2P though over Audio Manager because you can shut the backlight off and save battery.

I dont use the cube so I cant really agree there.. I do think its pretty freaking fun to play with but I never found myself using it to much.. I took it out of my ROM's to make the OS run faster.

Calendar isnt to big for me.. I dont have anything in it because I flash my phone so much.. (This is my personal phone..I dont need it for work or anything like that.. So its my media device and just my all around fun time device haha).
But again its just what people use there phone for and what they like.. I hate the stylus so I like finger friendly
