Sprint HTC Touch & GPS/ROMs Question

So im new to all this but,

I have the Sprint HTC Touch, does it even have the hardware to allow regular GPS from Google Maps or such applications?

From reading it sounds like its as simple as running the unlocker, switching roms, adding in the .cab for my carrier and then its business as usual. Am I missing somthing here or is that really all there is to it?

My ROM questions are simple,

Are there certin ROMs I should stay away from with this phone/carrier combination?

Are there ROMs that or more proficient and stable that others with said combination?

Any information or feedback would be helpfull there is alot of info here and I guess I just need reaffirmation that my thought proccess is correct here!

Yes it has the GPS built in and you to need to upgrade to a new rom. You can just upgrade to the official rom here:

or use one of the roms available in the vogue foruum I have had no problems with OMJ's Roms and Whosdaman's(I am using his 1.6 Sprint full Rom)

Thx! Ill look into those rom's, Im using the one you had linked to but still no GPS functionality.

Ill keep reading to see whats going on then, it is the traditional gps functionality right?... Its not a pseudo GPS through sprint data connection or something where the phone dials in to retrive location information is it?
