Question about syncing to Outlook

Okay, so I've been using outlook to sync things for about a year now. And haven't had to much of a problem but one thing always bothered me. I could only either add things on my phone, or on my desktop. If I set it up to sync with data from my phone then anything I added from my desktop would be erased and vice-versa.

#1) Is there any way I can get it to just put both together and update both ways? Like add anything new from the desktop and anything new from the phone into both devices. (This is referring to Calendar entries and Contacts)

#2) I have it set up where it is supposed to sync email from outlook(I have email checked on the sync list in active sync), but it doesn't do anything. Does that only work for an exchange server? Cause I've got an IMAP setup in Outlook but it's not sync with the phone. I have to set it up again on the phone.

Thanks for any answers

Re: Question about syncing to Outlook

I'd be interested in a solution for this as well.

Cool Re: Question about syncing to Outlook

Your problem is not quite clear and there are some possible
solutions.
1. You can try 'ActiveSync', its useful for Outlook sync of
both Pocket PC and mobile phones. Install it and select the
options (in your case: files and emails) you want to
synchronize.
(Note: If your system is 'WM5.0+', you may need
'ActiveSync4.0+' for normal sync.)
2. You may meet the data conflict, for example, you changed
your phone number in your mobile but not synchronized and
changed it again in your desktop. Hence it is
difficult for computer to decide which really needs to
store.
To solve this problem you need to set 'conflict rules':
'follow the desktop' or 'follow the device'.
3.I have met the same problem once I used another software
for sync several years ago. I can not remember exactly. But
if there is a option called 'time filter' in your software.
It may cause the failure of sync of latest emails.
Accordingly disabling similar options maybe helpful.
