US Cellular- Want to upgrade for GPS

Hello,
I posted on another forum about upgrading my HTC Touch on US Cellular and got no replies.

The current radio version is 2.32.00. I would like to upgrade just for the GPS, no fancy extras, I'd prefer something just like the stock ROM.

I have some basic understanding when it comes to flashing, I have successfully flashed my old p4300 from wm5 to wm6.

hmmm well you could use buildos and... well thats all i can think of for now

All I see under BuildOS for a carrier is Verizon.

Any other suggestions?

EDIT- What about this, could I change the bootup screen back to US Cellular? Would I need to reprogram the phone?

Before you flash make a FULL backup using SBP Backup, or Sprite Backup. I am going to PM you with some details. I would like to get ahold of an original USCC Touch and try a few theories out.

I also have a USCC htc touch and would like to know how to get gps on it

I have a bluetooth gps, but it seems stupid when there is hardware on the device.

so i have been reading here for about a week and over the weekend i was able to unlock and update the radio in my touch, i used the stock alltel rom. i now have a working gps and net, the only thing you would notice different is the alltel boot screen. also this is winmo 6.1! just noticed that i cant send pics via mms but so far i dont care enough to look into it right now. i have used google maps and live searh and maps with the gps and it is WAY COOL!!!

cellguy: So you updated your US Cellular touch using the Alltel ROM and just stopped it before the customizations ran? And your phone access and 'net access worked just fine and normal afterwards? I'm still trying to sort out the steps clearly before i do this. Largely nervous due the scarcity of US Cellular examples/instructions out there.

yea, did just as described. did the unlock first and then ran the rom for alltel. once it rebooted i did the set up for screen calibration and such. then when the customizer shows up, soft reset and low and behold alltel screen! everything worked right off with the exception of pic messaging. havnt looked into this yet.
