I installed the OMJ M2D on my touch and it exploded! - Page 2

nah, i was talking about when i initially installed the OMJ, the program froze at 11 and crashed. I got the phone into bootloader mode and I'm installing the WDM 1.6 Clean and it seems to be working all right. I'll update this thread if it breaks or something.

Yep, it keeps crashing.

I tried putting it in boot loader mode, and tried running the .40 unlocker but it didn't work because it couldn't establish a connection in activesync and wouldn't accept the file or whatever.

I tried running the OMJ and it crashes around 9% every time, and asks me to try and recover the device

I tried running the WDM and got the same result.

I tried running the Sprint and it doesn't even get to 1%

Have you tried erasing all of the files you downloaded (0.40, 2.31, sprint ROM (from HTC), and any other ROM? Then re-download them and try from 0.40 and then do the sprint ROM then unlock then put on a custom ROM.

Yeah, I did that too.

I was reading around on the internet and I found out that you're not supposed to use the RUU with a virtual machine like parallels or VMware and that's what I was doing. Well, I have to install windows XP now but that's okay.

Thank you for your help though, i really appreciate it. I've decided that I'm not going to run windows to keep this thing synced. I'm just gonna get an iPhone.

I hate to see someone turn to the darker side. I don't sync my phone with my computer at all, I use pimbackup when I flash. Oh well, I'll be sure to think of you when I get an android phone.

Wow, I'd never even heard of pimbackup. I asked about a program that I could use to back up the phone on the phone itself, possibly to the SD card and the people at sprint said there was no solution, haha.

It's not really about all that anyway, I hate having to carry my ipod touch and my cell phone around everywhere I go. the iPhone works with everything I do, doesn't suck to type on and is more durable.

I really have to say, these Palm and HTC devices feel really cheap compared to the iPhone. I had a Centro, and now I have a Touch and they both just don't feel as good.

oh well, different strokes I guess. I hate having to spend this much time to get this phone to work acceptibly, the stock firmware is an abomination and trusting a 3rd party website like this one for firmware updates from people who aren't getting paid kind of freaks me out.

I would just run the OEM version from your carrier it normally fixes everything
