Re: Need YouTube Play Help
Well, you're getting farther than I am lately! My youtubeplay quit working a week or 2 ago, with this error message:
"Search failed, internet connection not working or timeout." But the internet connection is working fine for Opera and Iris. Then, I tired pIE (which I've had no use for, for quite awhile). It too has some sort of problem, giving this error: "The address is not valid. Check address and try again." But if I copy the address and paste into Opera, no problem. Same with Iris. I'm on an early leak of the official ROM update (version 3.03.651.2), and I'm not using TF3D. Both ytp and pie were working previously. I don't really care if pie gets fix'd, but youtubeplay is tooo coool to be without! I've tried soft resets, uninstalling/reinstalling, everything but hard reset, which I'd rather not do, prefering to flash 3.03.651.4 instead IF it comes down to it because of having so many apps to reinstall, tweak,... |

Re: Need YouTube Play Help
My understanding is that youtubeplay has died (though it had been working wonderfully since shortly after my 2-yr old post above, until just recently). Next best alternative is mVu, though it requires a separate player (no problem, TCPMP works well for me), and then there's the old WVD (Web Video Downloader). Here's a link for mVu:

1)update to a rom that has it.. 2)search google on the comp or your phone for a new youtube cab? :]

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...VGA#post569758 The good news, besides being available and working, is that it has nice summary lists of what's available. So you can use it to get better keywords from seeing actual YouTube video titles. The bad news is (1) it's only a player, with no 'Save' option. And (2), it apparently requires better resources than what Vogue hardware provides, because the playback is iffy, jumpy, and quite uncontrollable. One of the best things about WinMo is how you can use several apps to accomplish your goal. HTC YouTube can get you a title you seek, mVu can download and save it on your device, and TCPMP can then play it nicely. ![]() |
