S M Icon UPDATE(XDA) 9/14/08

Need some help. I am looking to replace just the start menu icon. The one that appears to be red, green, blue, and yellow. I think it is a 21x18 pixel icon. I would like to add this

That would be cool! You will probably need to find a resourse hacker and figure out which .dll or .exe it is in. That's a lot of files to search through. I haven't gotten that bored yet.

if you do find it, it would probably be a matter of just overwriting the file with yours *theoretically*

can anyone size this to 21x18 for me? So if I find the file I can put this in my new folder. Or how do I size this to 21x18? Thanks T M Z

Unzip this and run ResHacker.exe. You will want to disassemble-a-rom or copy the files in your devices \windows directory to your harddrive.

Use file -> open to view dll's, exe's. Once open, in the left window of the program, expand all branches until you see the icon you wish to manipulate. By the time you find it, you will have learned how to replace such items...

this would be nice if it worked, i want the vista start orb instead of the standard windows flag, but i dont wanna use wisbar. if this works please report back

Ah yeah, this is also a way to extract icons out of programs for launchers, pocketplus, and the CUBE with all it's variations.
