Notice About Stealing Software, NFSFAN

Although I really new here and only a infant in terms of knowledge, without a doubt. I only comment that I agree with no2Chem. Where I work we use web based tools, using IE. Yeah! I happened upon a older FF version that would accommodate the speed and needs of fellow co-workers. I worked all the bugs out, and any little issues. Four different add-ons all older versions. I have the most requested set up where I work. Because of its speed, reliability and adaptability. I don't go around taking credit for FF and building that, only the credit for finding one that ties into our tools. So when another fellow co-worker started taking credit for my idea to even us FF. I know how that feels, it swells in you to think they have no moral turpitude about their actions. I say it is a just course of action and beyond fair. Myself at work am one of the main go to guys for all issues, when he asks I just refer him to knowledge base of FF and the other tools. He isn't obviously reading them.

nueUSB took me over 40 hours of work in a few days. It was more than a full time job. In the academic world, you would shunned forever by your peers for plaguarism. In the real world, you would be sued, or put in jail. NFSFAN was lucky to just have got a ban.

This isn't the first time he's done this either. He's stolen both vetvito's and ppckitchen's work, as far as i'm aware of. VetVito, one of the best ROM makers for the vogue, left for this very reason, and I totally understand why.

This still doesn't give you the right to deface him in public....

You made a thread out of pure anger and stuck it for everyone to see which is uncalled for.....instead of PM'ing or email him, you pushed him to the ground kicked and spit on him......then after all that you lit him on fire

Even though what he did was disrespectful to you, you have showed a lack of maturity in handling this situation, and have only used your power as a mod to attack someone in return

(And for everyone who knows who I am and what I do, I just met NSFAN for the FIRST time yesterday night, because I was going to ask for the Omnia Drivers.....So I barely have an idea of who he is....my side is based on all Chef makers, not just him)

it was a BAD move....not sure if it was a DUMB one. and that's what it's being categorized as right now. i don't think the guy is a dummy.

but then again, he may jus be a retard that's handy with a hex editor. possible, but doesn't really make much sense to me.

it would be completely and totally idiotic. but he wasnt just doing it to no2chem. he took tools from bepe (bepe's rom protection) and recoded them to look like he made them (NFSFANS Rom Protection) when it was the same exact thing, yet poorly emplemented.

lets put a little bit of that into perspective;

40 hours / 3 days = 13.3 hrs / day.

I highly doubt you had spent that much time on your "professional land surveying software on a daily basis. nueUSB wasn't the only piece of software I coded. The fact that I didn't charge for it only makes it more offensive: the only reason NFSFAN bothered to edit strings was to take the credit for himself, not to get some kind of restricted functionality.

And it is a SERIOUS problem. If every time I release something that I spent a long time to work on, and it is stolen with someone elses name on it, what reason do I have to continue releasing my stuff.

According to your suggestion, I should just charge for my software, because apparently it is the only method I would have to protect my software.

And yes, we do want a "professional" site, not a site full of warez addicts. This is why these policies must be enforced.

As I stated at the beginning, the alternative was to send the host of PPCGeeks a DMCA takedown notice. I used my powers as a moderator to take care of the situation in a mature fashion. I could have just took down all of ppcgeeks. As i've stated, this isn't the FIRST time NFSFAN has done this. The board policy is an instant-ban on warez. I've taken the steps to inform the community of the evidence. "Defacing" NFSFAN would be posting baseless claims about him, which is ironically, exactly what NFSFAN has done to many members of the community.

Again, if you fail to understand this, I invite you to continue using NFSFAN's "work". However, be aware that I will vigorously protect my work, and so long as he continues to pirate my work, I will make sure that it is taken down and removed.

No what he did was right ..... Think if you developed the nuetools for nothing in return and someone stole it from you .... like the man said its bad enough that alot of his tools are used with giving him credit (which may be the reason for the name signature on his tools - NUE) but to have someone take your creation and only change the popup title then post it as there own is almost as big a slap in the face as this thread . What many of the new comers here may not know but people like Guru No2 DCD Colonel Lennysh VerizonGuy they take time to make tools and clean oems and build kitchens for you all and the rarely ever get credit for there work .... Even I at one point in time would use parts of DCD's Colonel's No2's roms when I first started making roms what stopped me from doing this was that I was not gaining anything from it meaning that I needed to learn on my own how to clean a rom or how to customize it myself ..... and DCD pm'd me on a xda and asked me about using one of his packages in a rom I made ..... so after that I started doing my research and investing time into cooking and it does take many hours to create "working" roms and tools in them .... credit stealing is something that honestly has been going on in this vogue forum for a while and it needs to stop .... Chefs whether they build with the kitchen or use Dogguy's kitchen or Bepe's tools should be working together not acting like crabs in a bucket ......

ok point made...and taken...the need for the topic was there...however the need for a stickie...was not. as i look into this further i have to say to all that are questioning his ban...this isnt the first time he's been banned...will be the last as i am lifting the 3 week ban and issuing a permanent ban. and as far as the "OMNIA DRIVERS GO" THEY ARE MY TWEAKED VOGUE DRIVERS THAT I GAVE TO HIM...that is why they work in the vogue minus a power issue thats being worked out by myself. And now this thread is unstickied. I will however keep it open for the sole purpose of discovery.

Ahhh see I thought they were his....I asked for them to test them out, he didn't give them to me cause he doesn't really know me at all....but he also never took credit for them either
