Cant open attachements sent for IPhone

For some reason I can never open attachments sent from my wife's IPhone. Be it pictures or even forwarded e-mails will not display. Even if I save them to memory they still will not open. Now when I open them via outlook on my PC they open with no problems.

Is there something I am doing wrong or is this an issue I have to live with?
