Alltel touch with sprint radio?

Hello all. I ordered my wife an alltel touch and i would like to run the latest sprint radio with a custom rom. I have this same setup on my mogul currently. I just wanted to make sure I have the steps right so I don't brick my wife's phone. I don't want to sleep on the couch for a week. So the steps are.

run unlocker 2.31
install sprint official update
install custom rom/ I'm leaning towards DHarveys, any suggestions?
Install alltel carrier cab

Is that the right procedure?
