touch wont stop autoredialing

Hi, i have a problem with my cdma htc touch. i have rom / radio versions 3.42.50 / 3.09.66.1. Which are from the latest official bell rom release.

Here is my problem; I use a mini usb to 3.5 mm stereo headphone adapter. When i play music through it though, the touch automatically brings up the dialing screen, and begins redialing the last number dialed. This happens quite often, but randomly.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you fix it ???

I had a similar problem when i manufactured a custom adapter out of the supplied headset. The problem occurs when there is a short in the adapter making the phone think that the headset switch (on the normal headset) is being pressed down. I believe the switch is activated when the switch wire is tied to ground.
