roaming not working ?

i was out in muskegon, mi. today by lake michigan and i noticed my roam doesn't seem to kick in ? i can't even make a call and the time on my phone doesn't change until i get a good signal. is there a way to fix this issue ? when i left the beach my phone worked fine.

Having this same issue, called customer care, they cant fix it.

Took it to the store, they cant fix it either.

can this issue be fixed ? i mean is this a problem with the new official sprint 6.1 rom ? i don't want roaming forced all the time but i would like it work when it is suppose to.
