txt ringtones

How do I put create ringtones for my txt mssgs.

-cut whatever mp3 you would like to use as your ringtone
-put it on your SD card
-go to start, settings, sounds & notifications
-click the "notifications" tab on the bottom
-in the "Event" drop down, click "Messaging: New text message"
-then change the "ringtone" drop down to the ring you uploaded

for txt ringtones, they have to be stored in the sounds folder in application data on main memory

It's true but you can just paste them into your windows folder and then they'll be in the notification box.

also make sure they are only like 3 seconds because the worst ppc problem is once a txt ringtone starts... it ain't stoppin

haha yeah. i had a car alarm ringtone that was like 5 minutes long. worst idea ever. i thought i stopped it with screen off,, but it just kept goin when i turned the screen back on.

is there any way to make a ringtone stop once the message is dismissed/read?

there is an app i used to use called mRing. it automatically trimmed the text message ringtone to like 5seconds. and you could silence it from any key press. also set individual call and ring tones for EVERY contact.
