Phone Freezes during WM6 splash screen

Hi everyone, recently my phone decided to stop working. When i turn it on, it displays the HTC splash page, then the Rogers splash page, then the WM6 splash page, but it freezes there and will not respond to anything afterwards. Ive tried taking the battery out, ive tried soft resetting and NOTHING

i really dont want to hard reset since i have lots of important calendar entries, txt messages and phone numbers that i cannot lose

what can i do and has this happened to anyone else?

Actually this kinda happened to me. But it would get past the splash screen after at least 45 minutes or so, and then nothing would work......unfortunately I was able to fix by flashing to the newest ROM released.......
