Poll:Alltel 6.1 update needs to come out...

who here, can't wait for the release of the alltel 6.1 (becaues of you vogues horrible gps performance or no mms) update or check the website everyday to see if they posted it.

it does need to come... right now i have flashed the 20270 with 6.1 but I am really waiting for an official release. right now alltel offers telnav gps with the blackberry and im hoping that with the update they will also offer us something similar.

How can I tell if I already have the update. I can send and receive pics through texts but not sure where the gps functions are on the phone.

I am using Dharvey's latest Alltel Rom and everything works perfectly for me.

Been waiting for update too. There is alot of conflicting info about this. Many say will be realsed at end of Aug. I sent an email to HTC to get official answer and here is the response "Thank you for your inquiry regarding the launch of the new Alltel ROM.
We understand that it is important you receive all the information to best utilize your device. Currently, our developers have to work with*Alltel to determine when and if a ROM upgrade will be available. Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for availability of any ROM update. Please check the HTC America website for any software updates that may be released,

I had to make sure the server settings were right for the mms to work and then called Alltel to tell them it wasn't working, they reset my phone in their system and I was good to go. I can do picture and video texts. I have used the GPS in my home area and when up in Philly a few weeks ago.
