Phone Freezing at Today Screen .... can I grab contacts/sms history

Hey, so my phone is freezing at the today screen (after I installed htchome-2.1-hermes-n2a.cab. . Which I now realize is wrong but I t sitll shouldn't have frozen my phone)... and I am guessing I am going to have to reflash with a new ROM. Does anyone know if there is a way to grab my contacts/messages? The phone is freezing before activesync can be enabled.
I would appreciate a response ASAP

Man, I have been thinking about this one pretty hard.. I am sure that the only way for you to get your contacts/sms off a frozen phone is the very slight chance that you might have installed htchome on your storage card..

Try to take out the storage card and reset a few times, put it back in a reset a few more..

Good luck man..
