Overheating screen issue!

I noticed that my phone was starting to overheat when I talk on it a lot etc...

and then out of the blue today, a weird filmy iridescent rectangle has glazed the screen!!! the phone is still functional and I can still see the stuff clearly but it definitely should NOT be there. Is this an effect of the overheating?

What should I do??? Does anyone have the same problem? Does this warrant a replacement? Please help!!!!!

I'm going back to school in Pennsylvania on Sunday and it would be awesome to be able to fix this before then....thanks!!!

Re: Overheating screen issue!

So, I looked over at pdaphonehome.com's forum and someone had a similar issue and said that it is a sign that the screen is "separating":

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-t...eparating.html

They chose not to resolve it (you can read about it more) and someone else replaced the phone with their insurance program. Personally, a screen separating doesn't sound like a good thing!

I don't have an insurance program though! And, I really don't want a refurb from Verizon....(plus I've hacked the rom and put in a lot of stuff so doesn't that void warranty anyway?)

UM okay so now my scroll button doesn't scrolll anymore...what is going on?!?! AHHHHHH!!

Re: Overheating screen issue!

well rom stuff can be reverted using the .4x bootloader and a vzw rom and what buttons are you referring to as scrolling? but all else if its less than a year i think it still falls under warranty, if its after a year... god i hope this never happens to my phone :S

p.s. new phone + extended battery cuts the heat down alot... i can finally use my gps and get my phone to charge at the same time where as the gps would overheat the stock battery causing it to discharge while plugged in.

Re: Overheating screen issue!

I did a hard reset which took care of the scrolling issue (the navigational key wasn't working) but the film is still on the screen

maybe I will call in...or perhaps wait til like the very end of myw arranty to snag a new phone..hMmM
