Storage card access

I seem to be having issues with a 4gb card in my Verizon xv6900. I've got one of Negmann's roms on it and everything seems to work fine. The problem is when I record video or pics which are set to reside on the storage card. The video lets me preview it and shows a location storagecard\my documents\my video... cool. When I browse the storage card from the file explorer on the ppc I don't see a my documents folder at the root or below any sub folders. If I try to create a folder on the storage card named my documents a message appears stating it already exists. I'd reflashed the ppc once to get a clean install after having some other problems and this corrected the other issues. I've also noticed that I cannot see the card in my reader on the pc, I guess I'd like to format the card and see if that corrects the error. Is there a format utility for the ppc since I cannot access it via my pc? Could it be the card is too large at 4gb? it's got to be fat32 but who knows, could if be ntfs?

Also, I can create a folder through active sync explore but cannot view it from the pc, anyway around that?
