Re: I Need Help On Flashing My Htc Touch To Metro Pcs

Anyone? I would like to do this as well. I have a sprint vogue touch 6900 and would like to take to Metro PCS. I'm going to do my wifes mogul as well. Any advise or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks

Before you do anything, you'll need to find out if Metro PCS is GSM or CDMA. I don't recall which it is. Sprint is CDMA and IF Metro PCS is too, then you can use your Sprint devices there.(Metro also has to be willing to activate those devices on their network). If Metro is GSM, methinks you're out of luck.

metro pcs is CDMA and yes you can turn on your vogue with them or touch I should say. They recently allowed this to happen. I would do it too but they just don't have a decent web package. Now flashing it I can't help you with

Flashing it to MetroPCS is no problem, but you may wanna check to see if they will activate it first. I was told that Metro will not activate a smart phone right now, and in fact only activating the phones they flash in their stores.

Re: I Need Help On Flashing My Htc Touch To Metro Pcs

Understood but what some of us want to do is port over an existing/activated MetroPCS e*s*n for sole puprose of using it on a sprint pda. The original phone will be properly discarded for non use. Alot of people are already doing this. I just wish there was a cab already created or cllear and consise steps in setting this up.

Questions I have are:
Is it best to use a Sprint ROM (which one is recommended?) and just soft reset before it tries to install their software?

Can I do a hard reset and then a soft reset before the Sprint software is loaded? (Its assumed you have access to programing).

Or is it best to cook your own ROM? Since selecting Metro PCS is not one of the available options, can someone edit an existing for MetroPCS use? Or is it best to use another carrier's (which one?) and modify that?

I'm not trying to get into discussion here about legality or how to go about changing e*s*n. Simply put, if one assumed the e*s*n was accepted into the Metro PCS system, How do we create a ROM or what info/steps would be needed to make it functioning radio on the MetroPCS system.
