Using the Alltel Touch on Sprint Network

Hello everyone!

I just moved to a new location where alltel apparently doesn't have service and I get charged roaming rates. The problem is I still have 1.5 years left on my contract... So I'm considering paying the early termination fee and switching to sprint.

My question is: Is there a way to use the Alltel Touch on Sprint?

My phone hasn't been upgraded to Rev. A yet, in case that matters.

Re: Using the Alltel Touch on Sprint Network

Alltel currently has agreements with both sprint and verizon, and what kind of plan do you have that you have roaming... the only alltel plans i had a choice of were nation wide w/ unlimited text and data... so if your not getting coverage, or if your getting roaming on a smart plan (which requires some bi*(#ing at customer services) then i really dont think sprint or verizon will help... keep your money would be my suggestion if you in deed do have a smart plan

Hmm...you may be right. I do have a National plan, but whenever I get a call it says that roaming charges may apply. I called customer service to ask them if I'm getting charged roaming rates, and they said they can't tell until after 48 hours. I'll try waiting a couple of days and call them again.

funny that sounds exactly like sprints roam guard... but you should be able to disregard that unless your in an area that neither sprint nor verizon has coverage in.
