email button barely works

Good morning and thanks ahead of the time for the help(thanks will be given)

i recently purchased my touch on sunday(loving it), immediatly upgraded to 6.1 and that is it.

my biggest and only gripe that i have is that if i check my email once i usually always have to give it a colonoscopy(soft reset) to be able to go back. i can hit it a million times, close all running apps, and try to get to email through the longer alternative options and i still have no luck.

i figured there would be an easy way to correct this but i searched and found no goodness...
