GPSmode, what are they?

i am having issues (again) with the GPS...
i have changed settings in the registry..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS

EnableAGPS = 0
EnableGPSSmartMode = 0
GPSMode = 1
im curious what the other GPS modes are for, 2,3, and 4

(i am in an area that has no service currently, there is very close by, but not where i am currently living)

so, i have switched it, disabling aGPS...
and it was working just fine...
now it takes forever and a day to get a lock...

why all the GPS issues? will they be fixed? is it worth trying out DJh ROM? ive heard people getting fast locks...

i am currently running MyMotion.. .satellites are showing up... lots of them... but its having trouble locking...

i am running the newest official stock rom from sprint, 6.1
i am tired of messing with this... are most people having issues? will they ever be resolved? or is this just me and a few others?

thanks
pj

Re: GPSmode, what are they?

funny, its an answer to my post from another topic... man i forget things fast.... thanks...

ok, so i have gpsmode set to 1, GPS only... assisted gps to 0, smart to 0... i soft reset... and satellites bounce around... but no lock... i tried popping out the battery for 5 mins and starting back up, but nothing...

i wish the GPS worked....
would be usefull...
i can never count on it... not a good tool

Re: GPSmode, what are they?

Yea, I attempted to disable the agps client for a minute, and it also didn't function. In fact, even with the agps client enabled, it jumps around (accuracy maybe to 100 ft). Pretty terrible compared to my holux gpslim 240.

Re: GPSmode, what are they?

When you see satellites but no fix in GPSViewer I have found that I can get a fix if I push the top button to shut off for a few seconds and then push to turn back on.(Not shut unit down just to sleep). See if this will pop them to fix. It works sometimes for me. GOOD LUCK
