Question Question on New Sprint ROM and GPS

Hello Everyone,
I finally did upgrade to the new HTC/Spring and I have a question. I know we were all waiting for the Rev A and GPS. I wanted to see how can we use a GPS on the touch and I hate to say this but I am looking for a free service if it is possible.

Thanks

Well if you have the new rom, you can Sprint Nav (comes with ROM), Google maps (free app.), Live Search (comes with ROM). You will use data with these programs. It is best to have a unlimited data plan (Vision). There are alot of apps out there for the Touch and GPS, Tom Tom, etc.

Re: Question on New Sprint ROM and GPS

Thanks for your fast reply. I see sprint nav icon and when I click the icoan, it goes to the next screen and it asks for first name, last name and email address. If I do sign up and use it will I get charged for it? I am on an older SERO plan.

Thanks again.

Re: Question on New Sprint ROM and GPS

windows live search does turn by turn navigation with GPS
google maps does too, only (IMHO) less well then WLS

I've used both, either will do in a pinch. Neither is as good as a real navigation app (I bought some Tom Tom maps, well worth it) which will pretty much turn your touch into a slightly smallish but very functional GPS navigator. Don't forget a car power adapter

It gives you a 3 day trial first, putting your info won't get you charged, after the trial it explicitly asks you if you want to continue the trial everytime you start the program (for a charge)
