Question TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

I'm just wondering if anyone has found a better fix for playing avi video on TCPMP after the 6.1 upgrade? Ever since the upgrade, Video on it has been very choppy. I am using the updated "TCPMP-0.72RC1-arm-ppc-recomp-01" file, that took care of the initial error that kept the program from starting. unfortunately even with "Raw frame buffer" checked, my video is improved, but not as smooth as it was with WM 6.0 on my Sprint Touch.

So has anyone found a better fix for smoother video?

Thank you for any help.

Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

I haven't seen any threads on a fix for the crap video chop we get with TCPMP now that we switched to 6.1. I never got chop before 6.1. Just a suggestion, I tried out the Divx player for WinMo and it works and plays vids nicely, unfortunately it doesn't have an option (that I can see) for changing video zoom (ie, fill screen, widescreen, etc).

Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

I get "unexpected program failure" error when I try to start TCPMP since I upgrade to 6.1 !

Any idea how to fix this ?

Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

First off thanks for not answering the question and just wasting space Hibby.

I have searched the site, and could not find a better fix then the one I mentioned.

As for the last post, make sure you are using the latest TCPMP for PPC. The full file name your looking for is "TCPMP-0.72RC1-arm-ppc-recomp-01." this fixes the error of not starting.

Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

There's another version I'm using. Not sure if it's any better, 'cuz I have not tried AVI on it. Found it at xda-developers. It's called "TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.CAB" and may be an imporvement, based on the recomp number. My problem is that I've been unable to play MOV files since upgrading from 6.0 to 6.1, arrgh.

Thumbs up Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

Thanks man. The file ending in "03" was exactly what I needed. Here's a link I found in case anyone needs it.

Thank you, this version works great.

Did not try .mov files yet though...

Re: TCPMP on WM6.1 question.....

I had crap playback from YouTube until I changed the DirectDraw overlay to RGB..this was just a random fix, I didn't/don't know why it cleaned up playback.
