adding a photo when sms texting

Can't figure it out.. texting is easy but how do i add a photo when texting, I see a insert under the menu but it's grey'd out and can't be used. Should I be using other sms software? I'm new to this sms stuff.. just used to old fashined txt messages.

sms is standard texting if u want to send pic or MMS is the technical term for this you need a special program if your on verizon you need arcsoft if your on sprint search for smms and you will c a large thread about the topic

Or, you can send them through outlook as an email if you know the carrier they are on you can goggle and see what there specific cell phone email address would be, but this way is kind of a pain...

thanks for the info.. found smms software.. downloaded and when I sync later gonna try it out.. looks like it will the do the trick.
