What happened to my GPS??? Win Mobile 6.1

Hey all...need some help
My 6.1 GPS was working very well a few days ago...I was using google maps and live search.

I tied a trial of TOMTOM navigator, which never worked.
I then tried iGO and couldn't get the GPS to work

I went outside...beautiful sunny clear day here in Missouri and tried to get my LIVE SEARCH GPS function to work. Every application I am trying says that the GPS can't be found? Any suggestions at what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!!

You may need to 'Prime' the GPS....

BAF GPS is a great application - it creates a icon on your 'desktop' that allows you to enable and disable your GPS with a simple touch!

The program definitely brought my GPS back. I am using IGO, but it keeps saying GPS disconnecte...hopefully that is just cuz i am indoors and don't have a good signal. Much thanks to dtuma1980 for this great program.

Re: What happened to my GPS??? Win Mobile 6.1

I was having the same problem; I ran the Sprint ROM when released and had GPS work once. I just install the BAF GPS app. INSTANT Connection..

2 second install, and uses no resources.... Now if someone can get ActiveSync to be as stable the world would be a better place.

Re: What happened to my GPS??? Win Mobile 6.1

OK...now if someone can tell me what the heck is wrong...

I have the program that was recommended...but I get no connections.

If I soft reset my phone, it usually will work meaning I get GPS locks. However, afterwards, if I turn my GPS off..I can't get any signal without soft resetting. is there some kind of setting or problem with my phone?

Re: What happened to my GPS??? Win Mobile 6.1

Well for the past 2 weeks I have been attempting to use this app, and I have gotten it to connect only twice...

I have tried multiple resets and it still never finds any connections.

Oddly enough, I just tried it and it connected in 5 seconds. not very consistent. are there other "primers" available?

Re: What happened to my GPS??? Win Mobile 6.1

The problem is with AGPS.
For example, IGO8 can't use the GPS function if AGPS is enabled.
You need to turn if OFF by using Kaisertweak or Schaps Advanced Config.
Apparently this is another MS "feature".
The downside, of course, is that if AGPS is disabled, GPS fixes will take longer.
