Re: activesync keeps booting me off tether. help!

I've just taken a quick look and I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about but I know in DHarvey's Vista ROM you get a choice when you connect, 3 of them, connect as RDINNE or something like that, or USB-Serial, or Mass Storage Device.

When I chose the first one Active sync would keep booting me but then I choose USB-Serial. I also went into Settings, Connections, USB to PC (this is all on his ROM) and the un checked the "Ask about connection Type when I connect" box.

This fixed it for me if this is what you're talking about, if it's not sorry to get you so excited for some help, you seem a little anxious!

I surmise that the tethering solution takes the place of Activesync. Where can I get it? I have been having so many problems with WMDM that it is not funny.

Do you use Activesync at all? If not you can remove the registry entries that make it start up. there's 3 of them depending on what event triggers it. use MemMaid to do it. check this thread : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...nc+stop&page=2

Re: activesync keeps booting me off tether. help!

The other thing you can do is when you go to the greyed out Active sync icon on your task bar on the PC, right click it, go to connection settings then uncheck the "Allow USB connections." That will stop it from recognizing the Touch for activesync (assuming you connect with USB) but tethering will still work and it won't kick you off. Then when you want to active sync just recheck the box. That's a lot easier than changing registry entries every time you want to tether and then re change them when you want to active sync.

tethering is using your phone as your modem.
