Cannot forward text messages after Sprint Touch ROM upgrade?

I can't seem to forward any of my text messages whereas before my ROM upgrade this was definitely a possibility. In the text message menu, I used to be able to select Menu --> Reply --> Forward, however now the forward option is grayed out and cannot be selected.

Can anyone confirm that this is due to the ROM upgrade or help me with a workaround? I did a search but didn't locate anything regarding this topic.

Thanks

Re: Cannot forward text messages after Sprint Touch ROM upgrade?

thanks....its definitely something to do with the threaded text messaging used in the new rom. If anyone knows a reg hack or something that will enable me to select the forward option while still using the threaded text, that would be amazing.

Thanks.

Here's what I found.
Your're right it's grayed out when you are looking at your messages. But if you click the name of the contact it's from, it opens up that contact. Tap the X to close the contact and that particular message will be highlighted, and then "forward" is no longer grayed out.
Why they won't highlight when you try to tap on the message itself, I do not know.
But the end results, you can forward the messge.

Welcome, I know it's a weird work-around, but at least it's not a 10 step work around.
Who knows maybe somebody will post something that is a better way or just some better info.

Re: Cannot forward text messages after Sprint Touch ROM upgrade?

Hi. There is actually an easier way to highlight an individual text and then forward it.
Open the text message/sms, then just click up with the central button thing (the round thing in the middle of an HTC Pro!) and it then highlights the last text in the messaging thread. You can also click 'up' again to move to an earlier part of the thread. When the message you want to forward is highlighted, click 'Menu' and then 'Forward' (which will not now be greyed out).
Been wondering about this for ages, so thanks for previous thread on here ...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328363

I use this ^^ It works really good and has added benifit of seperating the msgs. What is so great about it is it skins the original winmo sms so you don't have another program running.
Just press on the title and the menu will pop up with forward ability. Only drawback is the app loads slightly slower than the standard WinMo threaded sms
