HTC Pulled software update For alltel touch

just going for a look at the HTC website. and i notice that they have pulled the software update link for the alltel phone. Any other carrier has the software update link.

Could it be that HTC is preparing to release the offical update?

Re: HTC Pulled software update For alltel touch

I called them yesterday and the tech told me they do that just before they release a new update. He said he hadn't heard when though. The link has been gone since sunday.

Jay

Edit. The update is still on their server, just find the link in Coke's official rom thread.

Re: HTC Pulled software update For alltel touch

haha that just shows you how much tech support really knows. I called today, and the guy told me that alltel does not release the updates but that it is entirely up to HTC. he they went on to tell me that the update from last april was not an ofical update because alltel did not release it, and since HTC release it then it wasnt offical. haha i had a laugh about it. becuase he just did not have a clue about anything.

htc s updated for alltel. the roaming indicator was updated and when u synced with a blue tooth headset, you got a constant beep in your ear. i had a heck of a time with alltel trying to get them to fix it. so i guess htc was made aware finally.

Re: HTC Pulled software update For alltel touch

HTC s update for Alltel updated the roaming indicator. when i tried to get a new blue tooth headset i heard a constant beep in the ear piece. Alltel finally concluded that somehow since the roaming indicator was now flashing that somehow a sound was now being heard through the bluetooth headset. I talked to Alltel this a.m. and they said that was why they pulled the update. so that it could be fixed.

Re: HTC Pulled software update For alltel touch

I sent them an email asking about it, and this is their response:

Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry

We understand how important it is to have the latest ROM version for our phones. We are currently updating the link to the Alltel Touch. Unfortunately, we do not know the ETA for the link to be back up. We have been working with the carriers for a ROM update. The original reason why we took the link down was for a new ROM update. When the link comes back up, we do not know if it will be the new ROM update or if it will be the ROM update that was on it before. The only time we will know this is when it is back up on our website. This is because our website is dealt by a different department that we do not have contact with.

I hope we have answered your question in detail. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Thanks for contacting HTC,

HTC Technical Support
