"USB device not recognized"

My Vista PC recently started giving me this error every time I attach it. I tried soft booting the phone and rebooting my pc with no luck. I even reinstalled Windows mobile device center. It worked fine two days ago, since the I had installed PDA net and the new google maps with transit info. I uninstalled both, in case they were conflicting with something with no luck.

I had read on several threads that going into the phones settings and adjusting the USB to PC connection might help, but no luck.

Any suggestions?

I am running the new update from HTC. It has been working fine since i installed it the day it came out.
