Activesync always popin up!

Hello, I currently am using the Verizon HTC Touch version and love it so far. The only problem that i have ( and i seemed to have this problem with my previous XV6700 after it was upgraded to WM6) is that activesync seems to always pop up in the background. I work in a hospital, and many areas i walk through do not have cell phone signal, causing the phone to disconect and reconnect from network coverage for a few seconds. As a result I believe activesync see's this reconnection as its chance to sync my phone's data with some imaginary computer on my data network plan. The end result is that activesync runs without my knowledge (or permission) and kills my battery life in the process (I think from the open data connection it creates). I currently make sure that i shut down any data connection activity before i suspend the phone. I have attempted to use the dummy server idea people had in the past (WM5), but not only does it require me to recreate my data connection settings, but it also did not stop activesync's reign of terror. If anyone has had similiar experiences or solutions, I would greatly appreciate the help!
